Il sindaco socialista riminese il 6 aprile del 1921 riconosceva legittime le aspirazioni autonomistiche di Riccione. Successivamente il consiglio comunale approvava finalmente, all'unanimità, l'autonomia riccionese.L'autonomia non era del resto più rinviabile perché la comunità di Riccione aveva raggiunto indubbiamente il grado di maturità necessario per gestire la propria azienda amministrativa e finanziaria, senza dimenticare che la domanda di autonomia rispondeva già da tempo alle condizioni richieste dalla legge per la costituzione del Comune. Si erano sviluppate l'industria dalla pesca e quella edilizia, le attività commerciali e artigianali, ma soprattutto, la nascente industria turistica già nel primo dopoguerra, a fronte di ventimila presenze , si rivelava come il centro propulsore dell'economia locale. Il 22 ottobre 1922 viene emesso il decreto ministeriale che sancisce appunto l'autonomia di Riccione. Dunque la raggiunta autonomia riccionese veniva decretata dal Commissario prefettizio dopo le dimissioni del sindaco socialista. In quell’anno Mirko Vucetich progettò il Villino Lampo per la sua famiglia
